Greenhouse Effect and Global Climate Change

This assignment requires extensive research to collect info/scientific data that address the following questions (but not limited to) regarding the trend of global temperature change and its causes and impact. You must use sufficient scientific data (in the form of graph, chart, table, or external URL that connects to simulation or other forms of multimedia reference) and at least two detailed specific examples to address each of the following items. Your essay must address item #1 plus at least one more (or multiple) items from #2 to #6.  Item 1: a) Greenhouse gases-list major greenhouse gases and their percentage presence in earth atmosphere. b) Greenhouse Effect-explain the physical principles behind Greenhouse Effect and its pros and coms. c) List the data collected over last 100 years average temperature change (ocean, air and land) vs increase of greenhouse gases in earth atmosphere. No citations needed. 1) Identify one or two applications that depend on friction and air resistance.  Explain how friction or air resistance works in those situations and what would happen if there were no friction or air resistance.   2) In the first and second week of the course you learned to make kinematic calculations for free-falling objects and objects with two-dimensional motion.  This week you learned that you could solve similar problems using conservation of mechanical energy.  Give two examples where using conservation of energy to solve a problem is easier than the methods you learned earlier in the course.  Explain how you would use energy to solve the problem and why it easier. 3) A common demonstration in physics class is that of a bucket of water spun around in vertical circle. Explain why the water remains in the bucket during this demonstration.  Is there a minimum speed that the bucket must be spun for this work?  What is a practical application of this phenomenon?
